Do you take on structural renovations, not just cosmetic ones?
Structural work is the point. Removing bearing walls, opening plans, second-storey rebuilds and basement framing are the renovations worth hiring a design-build firm for, and the same crews that frame our new builds do the structural work inside renovations.
Do I need a permit to renovate in Toronto or Muskoka?
For structural changes, additions and most substantial alterations, yes: a building permit with drawings a plans examiner can approve. Cosmetic work usually does not need one. We prepare and carry the applications as part of the project.
Can you renovate a cottage while we are not there?
Yes. Cottage renovations and winterizing groundwork are part of our Muskoka work, and most owners are away while it happens. Access is arranged in advance, decisions come to you documented with options and prices, and the site is left clean.
What does a renovation cost?
No honest builder can price a renovation from a phone call, but published Toronto ranges and the things that move them are laid out in our renovation cost guide. The first conversation puts honest brackets around your specific house, and it costs nothing.
